hi there. i took chromiun picolinate a while ago and was very pleased. I suffer from IR and have that classic dark ring around my neck. while taking it faithfully that ring disappeared and i had an easier time losing weight. in a nutshelll, cromium picolinate does the same thing that met does. just without the nasty side effects. let me know how it works for you.

I have been taking Chromium Piconilate for a while now and I am convinced that it has helped ward off T2 diabets for me. My last fasting blood glucose was good. I don't get regular doctor care so I use supplements instead.

nomadic- that is awesome! congrats! i believe chromium is awsome, especially if you don't have health insurance. and you don't have to get your liver checked and get the runs either.

what brands of chromium do you all use? I tried the GNC brand--regular and time released, and I simply can not tolerate it...I used a brand before I think it was called trichromium and it had cinnamon in it--it worked great even helped me lose weight--But I can't find it any more I believe the GNC brands drop my bs level too low--Hmmmm maybe that's a sign I don't need it anymore?

When is the best time to take chromium? Before or after meals, first thing in the morning? When I tried chromium a few months ago it made me sleepy.

I use Puritan Pride's vitamins (http://vitamins.com) and they are inexpensive and good vitamins. They usually have deals going on (like buy 1 get 1 free) and shipping is always $3.95.

As for when I take it, I try to remember to eat when I do take my pills, but I get real bad sometimes. Generally speaking, I take 3 200 mcg pills a day, one at morning, one at noon and one at night (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Hope this helps!
