I jsut wondered if any of you uk ladys , are on clomida nd if so what weight were you when you started taking them , i have posted this on another section but i just found the uk section so i figured i should, prob post it directly in here.
Any help would be great.

I think it depends where you are and what their attudes are. I've never had it because the Dr won't give it to me unless i get down to 185lbs (which is a loooooooooooog way off)
Don't know if you've been on but it may be worth have a look at

Thanks for the thread i had a look at it , its really interesting and im sure i will find some answers in there. I doubt i will get clomid either but i am hoping and praying.

If I were you I'd go and talk to your GP. Don't mention your weight or anything, just say you want to go on it and see what s/he says. I'm on Clomid at the moment and my weight was never even mentioned in my discussions with my GP. I'm 230lbs.
my dr is aware of my weight cos im seeing her for weight loss management and i ased her about clomid in the begining and she said that shes not allowed to prescribe it , so im not really sure whats what but i know she wont give it to me but im hoping that the fertility people will i guessi will just have to wait and see.

Some doctors are funny about prescribing it. Mine has did 10 years in gynae and obstetrics so is confident enough to prescribe it. Different practices have different policies. When are you seeing your fertility specialist.
I am seeing my fertility specialist in November so i should get some more defintate answers then. My gp did her residency in a gynae clinic too , but i dunno why she wont prescribe them.
I willl keep you informed of any developments.

hi, when my clomid was prescribed my fertility doctor never really mentioned my weight apart from saying it would help to concieve if i lost weight (easier said than done!!) but he prescribed it no problem and it worked after two months so i dont think weight is that much of an issue,

i must have been around 15 1/2 stone (sorry havent got a clue i pounds!) at the time, and like i said, it worked twice, once after one months course but unfortunatly i miscarried at 12 weeks but the second time worked after two months so dont get disheartned
