My doctor wants me to take Clomid cd5-9 and use OPK's. When should I start using the OPK's?? This is my first cycle of Clomid and first time using OPK's. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

If you arent charting, I always start day 12. On my last cycle I didnt actually O until day 21, but im a poas junkie and never want to miss anything!!

Just make sure that when using them use them in the afternoon, like from noon to 2.

Its not a stupid question. Its actually a really good question. Clomid can give you false positive OPKs if you take them too early. But if you see any OPK that says you are ovulating, take it as though its real and Do the Deed anyways, no matter how many +'s you get... Its usally best to wait until the 3rd day after your last pill, however, Im an overacheiver and started mine the next day. had 2 days immediately say positive, then they went negative, then went positive again. I also charted with my temps, so I knew that the second group of +'s were the ones that actually had ovualtion....

I believe you start on CD 14.....Unless you know how many days your cycles are. The OPK's should have the info on when to start testing.

I always start on CD10 even though my cycles are really long, because I don't want to miss it. Also, you may have to try a few brands. Last month (which was my first round of Clomid and using OPKs) I had pos everyday, even testing in the afternoon, so dr. suggested trying a different brand, because the baselines can vary. So I tried anonther one and they seem to be working have been using every day since CD 10, am currently on CD 18 and didn't get a pos until today.

Thanks for posting this blessed mommy. It's a good question. I am on CD 8 and first round of clomid and I wasn't too sure either. My RE told me to start using the OPK's on CD 12. But I wasn't sure what time of day but I see Rossjk 26 suggested afternoons. I,m just trying to make sure I,m doing everything I can to help us out.
