Hi,
Well I'm defiantly not an expert on depression, but there are many reasons people suffer from it. Everyone is different. Just like the PCOS symptoms range from person to person, so does depression.
PCOS does cause depression in some people. With your hormones out of wack, and physical appearances, that in itself would make you depressed. If they are TTC, irregular periods, overweight, loosing thier hair, excess body hair, acne, IR/diabetes,,,ect.....of course they will have low self esteem that leads to depression. You start to feel you aren't worth anything because you have to take medications to feel and "look" normal. Some people, just dealing with PCOS and it's symptoms are a day to day battle.
Not everyone who has PCOS suffers from depression. PCOS causes depression, not depression causes PCOS.
Some people have a chemical imbalance in the brain and it causes depression.
Some people have major occurences, and trauma in life that cause depression.
Unfortunatly we are dealt with many symptoms that are a pain to live with, and unfortuantly it causes depression.....
