I just got off the phone with a nurse (doctor had already left) and she told me that it looks like I have a cyst(or cysts, couldn't tell which she said) a 1/2 in. long from the ulrasound done on Monday. My blood work showed signs of possible PCOS(high LH and FSH levels). I also have other symptoms, irregular cycles, not getting preg. yet, weight gain. I your opinion, do you think I will get diagnosed? If I do, and they would start me on meds right away, do you think that they would let me see the doctor sooner than two weeks? I don't want to miss an opportunity! Aunt Flow showed today finally after 3.5 months!

If those were small cysts AND your bloodwork shows an elevated LH/FSH ratio then you will probably be diagnosed with PCOS so long as your thyroid and other things checked out.
As for whether or not you'll be put on treatment right away, there's a LOT of variation between doctors. I was diagnosed in August and haven't gotten treatment yet (I'm hoping at my next appointment on Monday), but other women are put on Met the day they get their diagnosis.
Hi Yall I Have Been Dealing With Pcos For 7 Years Now. They Finally Diagnosed Me 3 Years Ago After The Birth Of My Twins. I Had To Go On Prometrum Treetments After A Year Of Documented Irreguler Pirods Then I Had To Try For 6 Months To Conceve A Child. I Wated Anouther Year Though. I Guess I Wanted To Give Nature A Chance ( I Wish I Never Took Birth Controll Now I Did Not Need Them). Finally I Got Put On Clomid And Tried For 6 Months Before I Conceved. Then I Had Twins. Now We Are Wanteing Anouther Child And Im Currently Starting Prometium Agian. This Time I Only Have To Wate 3 Months To Start Clomid .so To Answer Your Question No You Might Not Start Meds Right Away.

I started Met when i went on Vac just bc then i wouldnt be running back and forth to the bathroom at work. however, the running never stoped. i would start them now just to get the ball rolling, it wont hurt anything to start the met today, good luck

Welcome to SC. What you said tells me you are DX'd. I am sure they will get you in as soon as they can. You know when I went in..it wasn't till a month later that I got Dx'd. Contact me if you wish.
