My Mood: Points: 9,015.80 Bank: 32.04 Total Points: 9,047.84 | question about dosage hi there,
i've been put on 1800mg of metformin a day, but the doctor told me to start out at half that for a couple of weeks.
is the reason for this purely because of stomach upsets?

Slow buy steady still works well....take it from somebody who started at 1500 mg right off the bat and suffered.
Diet is a HUGE factor too...my side effects were gone overnight when i started eating to control my insulin.
Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 9,015.80 Bank: 32.04 Total Points: 9,047.84 | i was actually wondering if i could just go straight onto the 1800 LOL! i don't care much about stomach upsets if it gets the job done, but yes, i do need to be sensible
last time i did it i went onto 500mg at first i think. he's definitely put me on a much higher dose than i've ever been before.
this is the strange thing too... i feel even more insulin resistant than before now i'm taking met - is that normal? i feel tired, i feel my blood sugars swinging...

Good luck!
