I was on 2000mg a day of reg. metformin for 3 months but the erratic side effects were too much for me. Not constant stomach problems but urgent ones...like, I have to go RIGHT NOW! Also hair loss was a problem and I was soooo tired. So i took myself down to 1500mg and feel much better.
Anyway, went to the endo and told him I lowered my dose and why and he put me on 1000mg a day of XR.
My question is, will that be enough to make a difference? I don't have period problems and am not having any more children. I just want to try to lose some weight that refuses to budge and take care of some of this facial hair.
I'd like to stay on 1500mg but endo has a God complex so I didn't even ask.
1500mg to 2000mg is a good dose of Metformin on the XR versdion.
I have found it really good for weight loss around waist but it usually won't stop any hair already grown but might stop extra hair forming on areas like chin etc.
RE: hairloss - were you taking Vitamin B complex and calcium supplements? Why do you think it was causing your hair to fall out as it is in time supposed to reducer your free testosterone levels?
