Default question about drilling op

Hi Everyone

I am waiting for af then its the drilling op for me, I was wondering do BUPA cover all the expenses in a private clinic as I am attending Clane private Hospital. in kildare.
And also are you put under general anesthetic and kept in over night. If anyone can answer either of these it would be great

thanks
gypsy

Hi Gypsy

I had my drilling op on the 18th Nov. I had a general Anesthetic I went into hospital at 8am and was out at 6pm the same day. The nurse said if I could eat something and keep it down and visit the loo then I could go home. They gave me a sick note for two weeks, I thought it was too long to have off work but Im glad they gave me it as ive been very sore!!

I did'nt have to wait for af to arrive before drilling. The one thing that embarraced me was that before the op you have to do a water sample to make sure that you are not pg, but no matter how much i tried (taps running) I could'nt do it:o

Sorry cant help you with the BUPA thing

Lynn

I had the ovarian drilling, paid privately, and stayed in overnight. I think you are more likely to be in and out the same day under the NHS. I was told to take a day or two off work (very different from Lynn).
