Default Question about first AF after d&e

Hi. I was just wondering about what first AF is like after a d&e (or d&c). I had one done 9/30 (info in siggie). October 13, my hcg levels were down to 11. My doctor told me to wait 2 weeks for the last one, so had my last one done 10/27 and it was below 2 and he told me I should see AF within the next 2 weeks. However, the week before, 10/21, I had signs of ovulation (not definite, but maybe). Now 2 weeks after that (and 1 week after last beta), I'm getting ewcm mixed with brownish blood. But it's more spotting than anything. Should I consider this AF? Or should I wait and see if it gets heavier and red? I really can't see having much of a lining to shed; I spotted for like 2 1/2 weeks after the procedure.

I am planning on calling my doctor this afternoon, just in case it is. I'd need to start my bcp on Sunday if today is CD1 to get ready for my FET. Hopefully, this one will stick.

TIA!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
I would wait a few more days to see what happens. I'm waiting for AF but, it's only been 3 weeks since my D&C. Prior to this last pg I had two 2nd trimester losses that didn't require a D&C. Both times it took 5 weeks for AF to arrive. Both times AF was a bit heavier than usual and longer. Sorry if this is TMI but there were clots and a lot of mucous looking stuff. I didn't cramp much either. I know some women do.

I had AF 4 weeks after my D&C. It was like my regular ones except a little heavier and the cramping lasted longer.

I also sometimes get bloodstained CM midcycle, but I don't think this is AF. It's what first clued me into trouble in my pregnancy and went on again/off again until the D&C. It recently reared its ugly head to me again and I'm not sure what's going on, but I know it's not AF. Probably my hormone levels still adjusting, my D&C was in August and I've only had 2 cycles since then. It never happened before my m/c, also.

Hope that helps!

From my experience, (hopefully this isn't TMI), I had some really dark, sticky CM 28 days after my D&C. I counted it as AF since it lasted for about 7 days. I had called my nurse during that time, and she said it might be AF, but maybe not, just wait and see what happens. She did say that cycles are a little wacky after a m/c, which is why it's hard to predict. 12 days after it stopped, I finally O'd.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Thanks, ladies. It's been 4 weeks, so that's why I was wondering if it was AF or not. Dr. wasn't available (he'll probably call tonight, when he can). But, of course, it's gone now!

What I had, sounds like what you posted, Roxgirl.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see. I think I just got a little too impatient, hoping it was AF.

Thanks again. And big to you all.

Guess Friday was a sign AF was on the way! I started spotting red on Sunday and it showed full force on Monday. With cramps than I've never experienced before either. Wow.

Anyway, thanks again!
