Default Question about floating tissue...

I'm hoping that one of you ladies can answer a question for me. My OB told me a week ago that he believes I have a molar pregnancy right now. We'll know more this coming week.

Overall, I'm spotting brown consistently. Today, I looked in the toilet and found a couple of inch-long things that looked kind of like brown clots floating in the toilet.

Is that placental tissue? I don't have any cramping or anything, but I guess up until now I still was hoping that my OB was wrong and that this pg is normal, but now I think I'm just done.

Sorry that this is TMI, and that I'm just diving right into this question in a way that might seem insensitive. I'm just numb inside right now...

Hard to say. Could be tissue from the pregnancy or could just be dischargey bloody gook. Not sure how far along you are but with an early loss there may not be anything noteworthy to see. My first loss I passed a sac the size of a golf ball, full of water (I opened it). Second loss, too early, didn't see anything. Third loss, passed a hard rubbery grape-sized thing with shreds of gray stuck to it - tiny placenta and sac. Not to gross you out but in my experience that is what a m/c looks like. I think a lot of early losses, women think they are seeing something but it's really just blood and clots and stuff.

You can have bleeding and have the pregnancy be all right. I have had it both ways. No bleeding when there was a m/c (non-viable pregnancy, no signs of loss on my own) and tons of bleeding when there was not a m/c (my girls).

The fact that it is brown they say is a good thing.

Thanks RD. That's comforting to me. I know it's stupid, but I still have a tiny hope that it'll be ok, even though in my heart I think it is a molar pg. I'll find out for sure by the end of the week...
