My Mood: Points: 34,656.04 Bank: 3,584.88 Total Points: 38,240.92 | Question about Green Tea and it's side effects. I have Googled, and Googled, and Googled and I can't seem to find anyone that had the same side effects from Green Tea.
Every time I drink Green Tea (The kind I brew at home, bottled and premade teas just don't seem to work as well or at all)
I have the side effect of swollen boobs! While it's gosh darn nifty to have a bigger cup size, I just have to wonder if I am the only one whom this happens to!
I have done some experimenting, and I am sure this is what is causing it.
But I also recently have had (TMI maybe) a soft cervix, which I haven't had in years, as I am completely Anovulatory/Amenorrhea since May 1998.
Oh, and I don't know if it makes a difference, but I am a really big girl.
Really super duper big girl. : Maybe that has something to do with something, too?
So, ladies, if you could let me know that my mind isn't messing with me, and that someone else has had similar effects, it would be lovely!
Danke!

It takes about 4 cups in a day for this to occur for me.
*looking forward to hearing what happens*

Green Tea and Iron Absorption
Due to their high tannin-content, teas, including green tea, have been shown to prevent iron absorption. While this effect is helpful in persons with too much iron, consuming several cups of green tea daily may not be a good idea for persons deficient in iron or susceptible to iron deficiency.

When I was drinking Green tea i'd have 1 or 2 cups before bed or mid-afternoon, that way I was avoiding meals and then minimising the effect it was having on my iron levels.
But right now I've got my period in the middle of the month (second one in 3 weeks) so I'm watching my iron carefully.

I love red tea and I haven't heard about any side effects at all. Its not really a tea strictly speaking its the bark of an African bush called rooibus.

I am super curious what Green Tea does to hormone levels. I haven't seen anything on that, other than drinking it reduces risk of Breast Cancer. But, nothing says specifically what is reducing said risks!
I know that Fertiliplus uses Green Tea in it's pills (Via ads I have seen) So it must have some type of effect to be included there too.

Danke! | Hello GothicKitten, I'm not sure which green tea you use but I use the green tea bags (which I add splenda to) and in place of sodas diet or regular I now buy the Arizona honey ginseng green iced tea.........I havent noticed any side effects with either one.

Meijer brand seems to work a little better.
No premade tea I have seen has caused this effect. Maybe it's too processed?
But I use either Equal or Splenda to sweeten

"HEALTHY DIET - FLUIDS. Even what you drink can have an effect on hirsutism and other PCOS difficulties. For example, studies show that the ingredients in green tea can reduce the effects of testosterone(4). " http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/hirsutism.html
