About the increas...thyroid medication is a lot like the pill. It's not one pill that makes the difference, it's the cumulative effect of them over a long period of time. It can be likened to if you miss one or two pills, your body does not feel the effect right away and probably won't if you quickly get back to your routine of pill taking. It's because your body has enough of that drug in it's system to cope until you are back on them. Likewise, your doctor may not feel comfortable just yet to bump you up to 75. He/she may just want top start you out with alternating days to see if that helps and gets you into normal numbers, because over time, the alternate may be enough in your system cumulatively for it to function properly. If that does not work in a while, your docotr will likely bump it up 75 per day.
I am unsure of the dizziness, but have never heard of it associated with that med. IT could be your blood sugar was low or high, that you didn't not eat or drink enough, or your blood pressure. Just mention it to your doctor the nest time you go in, especially have him/her check your blood pressure, as thyrpoid disease can affect your heart and it may be raising your blood pressure if your numbers were low. That's likely the case and will straighten out once your numbers are normal. |
