Default Question about Met and AF

I've been taking Met for about 1 month now. I gradually increased my dose throughout the month, and have been taking my max dose of 1500mg daily for 2 weeks. Prior to staring the medication, AF was induced by Provera. I started taking Met on CD1.

I was hoping AF would come this month, but it hasn't as of yet. Is it too soon for me to expect this? I feel very discouraged because I've read so many threads in which the Met helped almost immediately with AF.

Thanks to all the cysters out there for sharing your stories and support!

I was on Met for 3 days when I got my AF. Doctor says this was just a coincidence. I am on CD 23 of my next cycle and waiting for AF to arrive. So it works differently for everyone. Stay positive.

Heavens, don't get discouraged. You're on a medicine that is moving your hormones around. It can take more than 28 days to move them to where they need to be depending on dose etc.

Try to be patient. I was 11+ weeks before I got my first period on met. Eat to control your insulin so you don't counter-act the drug And give your body at least 3-6 months to get cycling. After that your Dr will likely run some blood tests to make sure your dose is altering your hormones sufficiently.

Hang in there! Hormones don't get bungled in a month and it takes longer than that to fix them too.

I have been on Met for approximately a week and just got AF yesterday. I wasn't expecting it either but it was definately a nice surprise. Like everyone said, everyone works in different ways, and I'm sure it will come in time.
