Question about Met before I start it

Hi Ladies!

I will be doing IVF in January with Lupron/Gonal-F and my RE wants to start me on Met to make me less sensitive to stimulation. (I am very sensitive to stimulation now) My problem is that I have trouble taking large pills. How large is the extended release tablet? Are the normal tablets smaller? Pre-natal vitamins are too large for me so I take chewable. I am really concerned I won't be able to get the pill down. Thanks for your help!

i take the 1000mg and the 500 mg. The 1000 mg is large!! i have a very bad gag reflex, and have a hard time taking pills. It does not seem to give me to much trouble, maybe partially cause i see it as a necessity to get to my goal of being pregnant. I try to take them with lots of water to help it go down. I also use milk if i am having a bad gag day! On the bright side, I have taken Vitamins that are bigger than the pills I am on now. If they are too big you could always ask for the 500 mg pill and take more of those.

I'm on met XR 500 mg. I take 3 at dinner every night. I have problems getting my pre-natal pills down, but the met isn't as bad. Just be sure you take it with a lot of water!

I hate taking pills also, especially if they are to big. I have seen how large prenatal pills can be and my met pills are nowhere next to that size. I just stick it all the way to the back of my throat and drink water. Good Luck!

I have a horrible gag reflex and I can't swallow pills at all either!
I am on the Met XR the 500 mg tablet and they are kind of big, but I can ONLY swallow them with milk. So maybe try something like that to get them down.
I am currently on my first IVF cycle.
