Hello everyone!!

I was just diagnosed with PCOS about 2 weeks ago and my doctor started me on Metformin. I obvisouly heard many good and bad experiecnes but I am hoping for the best!

My question is.. My doctor wants me to start slow. 1 pill for a week, the 2 pills the next week, then 3 pills the 3rd week and 4 pills a day the 4th week. Of course if I am feeling horrible then I stop at the dosage at which my body wants. On the bottle it says Metformin 500 mg. Is that in one pill or is there 500 mgs in the 4 pills that I will be taking in a few weeks? I'm thinking that 500 mgs in 4 pills is NOTHING. I'm pretty sure its 500 in each pill which will be 2000 after i regularly take the 4 pills, correct?

yes it will be a total of 2000mg once you build up to it. This has been my miracle drug! Good Luck and remember that any side effects that you might have will eventually pass.

I agree with PP. I can not say ENOUGH good things about metformin. I've yet to see if it regulates me, BUT it's helped me lose 42 since march 1 of this year. The side effects DO go away. But staying away from your "triggers" helps too. Like sugar will mess me up even though i'm "over" the side effects. good luck with it~!
