I got pregnant in March and did everything they tell you to do. Went to the Dr. for the first appt and then the ultrasound, I was supposed to be almost 9 weeks, but the little bean stopped growing at 5 weeks. I M/C that weekend. The Dr told us to wait 3 months, which we never really followed. I figured if it was going to happen it was going to happen. Well it did again and I'm freaking out because of what happened last time. Both times I got pregnant without any pharmaceutical interventions.
Does anyone know if having a m/c you have a higher risk of m/c again?
I'm just looking for information. After the last m/c I switched hospitals as I felt they didnt' address my PCOS like they should have in regards to the pregnancy. Anyways, I have an appt on Monday with a Perinatalogist, but I don't know if there are tests I should ask for or what to expect. last time no one would draw for beta's or anything. The only good thing is they classified me as a high risk pregnancy so I get seen alot quicker.
Sorry it is so long, ow do you not freak out when getting pg for a 2nd time when the 1st ended in a m/c?

Congrats on your BFP. I know how you feel. I had a m/c in November and again in Aug. I dont think that just because you had a m/c in the past will make you have one now. You may have a similar issue to me, that the baby just isnt implanting or implanting and staying. Some interventions often are as simple as a baby asprin daily or you may need some progesterone suppositories or a combo of things. See what your doctor reccommends...and again CONGRATS!
I would definitely talk to your peri about doing tests for progesterone which is something a lot of PCOS women have problems with. Also as was suggested the baby asprin. Tell the peri that you want to give this baby the best chance it has to come home healthy and happy from the hospital. Express your concerns to the peri - and definitely ask about testing and such that needs to be done. Also consider asking in the pregnancy area those are all women with PCOS that are pregnant. Just remember that each doctor does things a little different. Some will want to do every test under the sun, others just like to take things as they come.
In regards to being pregnant the second time after a miscarriage - I'm not there yet. I will tell you though that I will be scared to death my whole pregnancy because incompetent cervix isn't something that can be fixed. They will go in surgically after I get pregnant and close my cervix - but that's not a 100% fix - and there is a good chance I'll be on bedrest at least 50% of my pregnancy. I have made a promise to myself though to make sure I take the time to enjoy the miracle in me. Make time to realize that even if this next baby doesn't make it to have enjoyed and loved that baby every minute I have them. It's so easy to spend the whole pregnancy worried what's going to happen, just remembered that there is a little miracle growing and to love that little bean every second you have him. It's going to be rough on you for awhile, but take the time to enjoy being pregnant and try not to stress things too much (?I know easier said than done) as stress is bad for you and baby.
Congrats again!
*hugs*

Congrats on your BFP!
I had a friend that MC'd at 9 weeks, and was concieved on her very next O! she didn't even get another cycle. 9 months later, she gave to a beautiful baby girl.
I've had 2 MC's, im more affraid of being childless then another MC. But nonetheless im going to be nervous. my doctors are testing me and the little girl i lost for possible cause atm and if they find a reason i will be much more comfortable. Dont stress it away, treasure every moment. And worrying doesn't change anything! Remind me of this when i eventually get my bfp!

After one m/c, the odds are like 80 to 90 percent that your next one will be successful. So very good odds.
After two, the odds get lower, and so on and so forth...
I had 3 in a row, got recurrent pregnancy loss testing done, and carried my 4th and 5th pregnancies to term.

Oh...and it's VERY difficult to be pregnant after a loss. It's like your innocence is stolen. You're supposed to get pregnant and have a baby 9 months later - you aren't supposed to lose your pregnancy. So once that's happened, you are jaded for life. You take your subsequent pregnancies one day at a time and celebrate every single milestone! Every time I got afraid, I forced myself to picture me in a hospital bed holding a healthy baby in my arms. It helped.
Sorry for your loss.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I went in on Monday for a 2nd ultrasound. The first one at 5w 4d didn't show anything. I just about lost it.....
But then on Monday at 6w 4d, there was the little embryo with a nice yolk sac and a heartbeat! I'm just praying this one decides to stick around for 33 more weeks!!
