Question about my dose Met

ok ive been on Met for about 2 yrs now - and i take 2000mg XR a day - ive been taking them 2 in the am and 2 in the pm everyday - but when i looked at the bottle today - it says take 4 daily - not when to take them. I was just wondering if anyone is taking there's all at once. I tried it yesterday and i felt so sick all day. Im wondering though because if im taking it at nite - im not eating then so what is there to really help.

So my question is.

Should i take it all in the am ?
Does it make you feel sick if you do ?
And if so how long does that last.

I just want to get the most benefit out of the meds

I'm also on 2000mg of the extended release and my RE has me taking two with lunch and two with dinner.

I'm not on XR but I take 1500mgs. 750mgs with breakfast and 750mgs with supper.

Ok cool - ive been taking this so long - i just open the bottle and take them. Like i said i tried takin 4 yesterday morning and i felt soooooooooo bad.

Don't get me wrong I still have the horrible bathroom side effects. I also have a gurgley tummy all day and night. I feel nausous all day.

I'm taking 2000mg XR too. I was taking them all at once with my breakfast but have recently switched to taking them with my dinner. No problems so far. I have had no side effects from metformin, even when I first started taking it but I know that doesn't seem to be the norm.

ive been taking them for a while - and ive never really had any side effects. I also don't get AF with them either - but they have helped me lose weight. I just thought maybe i should take them all at once - that way when i eat throughout the day - it possibly could be breaking down the insulin or whatever it is

I thought that the whole point of being extended release was that you only have to take them once a day, but I'm no doctor. I know on the regular met the dosage has to be split. My doc told me to take them all at once with food, I asked which meal I should take it with and he said it didn't matter. I don't think it would hurt to take them all at once. You're so lucky to have lost some weight! Mine won't budge and the doc said met would help but nothing so far (it's been about 5 weeks). How long were you on them before you lost weight?

i would say a couple months - but i also take Chromium GTF twice a day - i think that really helps too.

hey ladies...
well the purpose of XR is to help with or prevent the severe s/e... but it's important to take the dosage as directed... it's most effective if you take your Rx always at the same time daily. there should be a dosage taken with your first meal and the higher dosage in the evening. The key is a consistant doseage. I am currently on 1500 mg ER. I take the first pill mid-morning and two at dinner with *lots of water.... so far... so good. I used to take the regular Met but it interferred with my job and I couldnt afford to keep running to the bathroom. Next month I will jump to 1750 mgs - hopefully AF comes soon!! it's been like 7 months! And i'm trying to stay away from the Progesterone injections.... so hopefully VITEX does it's thing!

i took Vitex for a while - it helped- I did the capsules and it took forever - then i switched to the tincture and i got AF after 2 months

Well... thanks for sharing... I take the liquid.... i must say im proud of myself, because im so not disciplined and working in a health care setting there is never time....?? but i drink my hot water with 30 drops 2x a day... i make time!!! if this fails... it fails... but i have to at least put my best effort into making it a success!....
