I was diagnosed with PCOS 16 years ago and was on bc pills for about 12 years. While I was trying to get pregnant with both of my sons, I took 1500 mg/day of metformin. It definitely seemed to help me get pregnant and lessen some of my pcos symptoms, but my question is how do I know if I'm insulin resistant? My understanding is that not everyone with PCOS is insulin resistant. Is there a specific test I should take? I've been reading on this site about the IR diet and wonder if I should do it. Weight watchers has worked for me, but I just seem to put the weight right back on.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
