Default Question about PCOS and my period!

Hi,

I need a little advice. I was diagnosed with PCOS with insulin resistance in November 2008. Well, I was put on Metformin and recently added Actos. I'm also on Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism (which they found at the same time). So, I've started getting my period again on my own, which is very exciting! But, here is the situation and I wanted to know if anyone has experience with this. The first time I got my period again on my own was in July 09. It was a perfect period. Normal flow, normal length, etc. I got the 2nd period exactly 28 days later (yay!) but, it was so light I didn't even need to use anything more than a panty liner (boo!). I also had no PMS symptoms (sore chest, cramps, headache, etc). The 3rd period I've had was on day 23! (too short of a cycle). I've experienced the sore chest, the headache, super smell power, and am slightly cramping but the flow is still light, but heavier than last month. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be so inconsistent?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Firstly, congrats on getting your period on your own!! It's an awesome feeling, isn't it??

I am no expert either but I think it takes a while until your cycle adjusts. I got off the pill 9 months ago and take no meds at the moment and my cycles vary from 14 days to 90 days. Before that I have never had my period on my own, so it was an amazing feeling. I think it just takes a while for the bodies to adjust, for the hormones to be regulated.

All the best!
