Default Question about pills and pcos HELP

I recently went off the pill becuase I was very tired all the time and more irritable. I didnt know I had pcos. I have been off the pill for 2 months. I finally had a period but it was very late. My doctor took all my blood work and did an ultrasound. She said I have the multiple follicles on my ovaries. My blood work showed that I am very normal except my testosterone was slightly elevated not by much though like 4 points? My Lh is 3 times higher than my fsh though. these were the only things that came back bad on my tests. My blood sugar, and insulin are normal. My cholesterol is normal. I am lean and athletic like 5 foot 6 and 134. I am just wondering if I need to go back on the pill I am wondering if I am going to start gaining weight and losing my hair. I have never done this before and I just found out I might have pcos. Ive never had irregular periods before. I am just not wanting to gain weight does it usually come on fast? I did gain like 4 pounds when I got off the pill but I was eating more than I should. I just dread the pill becuase I think its what made me so tired. Yet I dread the periods off the pill becuase I have bad cramps!! If my periods are regular and everything with my blood work being the way it was should I go back on the pill? Will I get worse pcos if I stay off the pill?

This sounds like what can happen when women stop BCP. It can take months for your body to regulate and get back to normal. I wouldn't get too concerned just yet. I would wait a couple more months to see if you regulate or not.

Also, have you tried to switch the type of BCP you are on? I know that I have had some negative reactions to certain BCP, but others work well for me. Maybe that's something you can think about as a solution?

HTH.
