Exclamation Question about pimple/cysts ?

For years now I've had these little bumps on my breasts, and some of them have turned into small blackheads and pimples. But sometimes one or two seem to go a bit deeper than the rest, and get infected.. sometimes rather badly. Usually they clear up on their own.

Except for a few on my left breast. I can honestly say they've been there a year or more. There's one main one (about the size of a pencil eraser now but its been bigger) and a few smaller ones in the same general area. No matter what I do, these continually get infected. I've tried antibacterial soaps, gentle soaps.. I always make sure the area is dry. Sometimes I've had to sterilize a needle, poke the very top to release the infection and then clean it well and put antibiotic ointment on it for a few days. But when I take off the bandaid, usually the next day and sometimes earlier, its red and infected again. I've gone a few days without bras to see if that was causing it, and have tried padding my bra there in case the rubbing is making it worse. Its been over a year now and they're still there. It can get quite painful sometimes. I don't know what else to try anymore. I've had ones similar to this come and go but nothing lasting quite this long. I have some pretty nasty scarring from dealing with this. Is there anything else I can try?
I have a doctor's appointment Monday with one of my old doctors. I'm going to ask her to check this out. I've never told my docs about this because they've all been male. I can hope she can give me an answer about this. I'm at the end of my rope, and just a little scared.

It's just an impacted cyst. There is probably an irritant (likely a hard piece of puss/scab) down inside the cyst that you aren't successfully able to dig out that is causing the reinfection. It happens. My DH has a couple behind his ear that get nasty from time to time. My mom had one on her behind!!

It's nothing scary, it just needs a little medical intervention

It sounds like hidradenitis suppurativa, which I have. HS is large pimples/boils that form, usually on the breasts and in the groin/thigh area. Many also get them on their buttocks, and some in the armpits. They are a PAIN....and I mean that literally. I don't think anything hurts quite as bad as those infected little lumps. They are related to hormones, and also to insulin resistance. The only surefire cure I have found is either birth control pills or long-term antibiotics. However, I have been on met for about 5 weeks now, and so far I have only had 1 or 2 in that time frame (I usually have more). They also seem to come and go in the same spot, like you describe. A dermatologist is the best person to help treat the condition. Good luck!
