Default Question about Spironolactone

I have been on spiriolactone 25mg for the last few months (along with Estelle 35-ed) and have just increased to 50mg of Spirono. I believe it's starting to work with the increase however, I am getting painful headaches that last for hours on end - I rarely have had a break from them. Can this be caused by spironolactone?

Well headaches are a side effect of spiro...and spiro can also cause decreased blood pressure. Headaches are also a sign of low blood pressure. So, I would guess if you just increased your dose and started getting headaches around the same time, there's a good chance they could be related. I would talk to your doctor.

Hi Talla83, thank you very much for your reply. Heading back to my doctor in a month or so - wondering if I should wait that long or not.

Can you call your doctors office in the meantime - let your doctor know what is happening and ask for advice?

I dont get headaches from the spiro but I notice that after taking my nighttime dose I feel sort of funny when I am laying down ( esp on my right side which i try to avoid for this reason)and trying to sleep. Im guessing its blood pressure related as well.
