Default question about spotting

I have been using a bcp for quite some time now.(3 months) I was half way done the pack and started spotting, then bleeding a little heavier. I waited a couple days and it went back to spotting. I decided to just quit taking the pills and let my period come. Nothing happened, but a little spotting. Does anyone know what would cause this? I was thinking maybe the pills are not strong enough? The doctor can not see me till the end of the week, so I was hoping maybe someone might have had a similar experience and if it the strength of the pill what I should be on?
I started with micranor when Adrik was still nursing, then he switched me to triphasil. I think micranor is less in strength and had no bleeding. So, surprised that I am having these troubles on triphasil. Thanks for any suggestions you can give me!

I don't know if this will help you any.... But, I was taking Demulen (30ug) and now I'm on Alesse (20ug). I never had spotting with Demulen. I'm on my first pack of Alesse, and have been spotting/lightly bleeding since the 11th pill. It hasn't stopped at all, and has gotten slightly heavier. I'm still taking them.... Supposedly this should go away.... (When?!)

Thank-you for replying to my post. I am glad to know that this can happen and is normal. I hope that your bleeding stops soon. I appreciate your reply. Thanks again

I'm on Levelen 28's and have had light spotting a few days every week. I have taken these for a continuous three months, though, without taking the placebos (therefore skipping my period).... so my reaction might be different for that reason. But nothing has been severe or even waranted wearing pantyliners. I am curious as to what my "flow" will be like when I take the placebos this month, though.

Whenever you start a pill you could exeperience some spotting during the first one or two cycles. Something that also can help is taking your pills at exactly the same time of the day.

If nothing else helps you could switch to a slightly stronger pill.

Thanks so much for the replies. I made it in to the dr. and he said that the pill was not strong enough, because my flow got heavier. He had me stop them and wait to see if my period comes and if not I have to go for a pg test. With the amount of bleeding I can't see me being pg,or having a period, but nothing has come yet. Seemed as soon as I quit the pill I quit bleeding. I thought for sure the bleeding would pick up.Makes absolutly no sense to me. He said that if I do start my period to start the new pill Sunday, he gave me Marvelon 28 which is stronger.I go Friday for the test.I did have bleeding with Adrik, so I guess I will know Friday. Thanks again for replying, I will let you know what happens.
