Question Question about starting over...Questions about Cleanses and Detox programs

I've been off the wagon now for several months, eating wise. Mainly because I can't shake these cravings I've been having and they drive me nuts until I give in.

I was wondering if there is something I could take to kind of cleanse/detox my body, clean out all the "gunk" and if I did, if it would help with the cravings I'm experiencing?

I've never cleansed my colon or did anything like that. So could anyone recommend a product to me?

I've heard that a slice of lemon in hot water works detox wonders if you drink it 1st thing in the morning...also why not keep some fruit at hand for when you get cravings? i struggle in the evenings, so i tend to pickapart a pomegranate while i watch tv.

I also read that if your bloated, everynight boil water & put it in a glass with lemon, & cover it, Let it sit in the frige over night, drink it right when you first wake up. This will hydrate your system after a nights sleep. The water will also detox the system, & is excellent if you have stubborn bowels and the lemon being natures cleanser will help with any skin problems. It absolutely helps me!! But this doesn't help with the cravings. Hope this helps

I'll be sure to try the lemon thing. Anything else?

Have you tried my 'craving buster trick'? Start your day with a breakfast of veggies, and a vinegar based dressing that you make yourself (use a 'good fat' like fish or flax oil in the dressing, too).

Most of the vinegals reported WAY fewer (if any) cravings, and if you use a large variety of richly colored veggies, you'll get a lot of nutrients and fiber.

I'd be careful with any 'drastic' detox programs since you're on met. Check with your doctor first.

Kat that actually makes sense. I used to use a lot of vinegar while making my seasonings for dinner, but I haven't touched the bottle in a good month. Could you PM me a recipe for a good dressing to do that craving buster trick of yours? Or give me a more detailed recipe for in the morning? Thanks!

I'm not too fancy...I just throw a bunch of veggies in a big bowl and toss it with dressing.

The dressing is also not fancy:

- apple cider vingar
- a bit of flax or fish oil
- some dried salad herbs
- maybe a small clove of garlic or fresh ginger
- maybe a dash of soy sauce

I put all ingredients into a blender (magic bullet) and pour.

For awhile there, I was making up several batches of cucumber salad each day: cucs, vinegar, a big of fresh garlic minced, a pinch of salt, maybe some sliced red onions.
