Default question about symptom

I am new to all of this and I was just wondering if extreme exhaustion is a symptom of PCOS? I have been tested for everythin from lymes disease to thyroid with nothing. I do have the Eppstein Barr virus in me though. anyway now my dr. wants me to start metformen after a miscarriage and a year of trying to conceive. I just go through periods of being very very tired. like lately going to bed by 11 say and not even stirring until 11:30am. When I wake up I feel very out of it and still exhausted. any advice on that?

I am always tired and never thought about it being something to do with PCOS. The last time I was tired like that I was PG. Maybe you are not getting restfull sleep. Sometimes we sleep alot and are not getting good sleep.

Yes, fatigue is a symptom. It is most likely caused by adrenal exhaustion, especially if thyroid function is low. One thing that saved me was a product called Nervous Fatigue Formula, made by Nature's Sunshine Products. It helps you really get good sleep while you are sleeping, and feel more energized when you wake up. Because what happens is your adrenal gland gets worn out, and it actually can't keep you asleep (it takes energy to sleep!) This is a pretty common problem, not just for women with PCOS, but especially for us. There are 2 types of Nervous Fatigue - a regular and a concentrated - the concentrated is like taking 5 of the regular, so if you don't want to take a lot of pills (you are supposed to take about 9 or 10 of the regular a day) get the concentrated, then just take 2 a day.
One thing to know about chinese herbs is that they work slowly - because they are literally healing your body, so it might take some time for it to REALLY help - I noticed a difference after about a week or 2.

I also take other herbs for PCOS - contact her (or me) if you are interested.

Here is the information - hope it helps!!

(FYI - become a member with Nature's Sunshine - it is worth it! Look at the difference between member cost and non-member cost)

oh my goodness, yes. i'm always exhausted, right from when i get up in the morning. met's not helping with it. the only thing that helps is working out: i feel energetic for a few hours afterward.

I found all I wanted to do is sleep.
I always felt so tired when the alarm went off.

I started Zoloft and in a very short time I could wake up before the alarm went off.

You could be having symptoms of depression and not realize it.
I would suggest you do some research on that and see if that matches what your going through.

I don't have the "typical" depression symptoms.
But I do have/had that fatigue and mild emotional symptoms without the Zoloft. My main reason for the Zoloft was for the fatigue.

I still have my "I want a nap" times, but not as often.

Take care,
Patty

i'm often very tired, despite getting a lot of sleep (i find i need a minimum of 9 hours a nightm which isn't always convenient!). sometimes i have to nap through the day. i do find that excercise helps a bit, though.
