Question Question about vitex..

Well I noticed that some of the ladies are taking vitex... So I bought some yesterday and started taking it... these are some of the questions I have..

1. Do you take it everyday or are there certain days you take it?
2. Will it cause any problems?
3. What exactly does it do?
4. Should I try some other herbs as well or instead of vitex?

I am sure I have a couple other questions but can't think of them right now. But anyhelp would be greatly appreciated, I am willing to try just about anything. Thanks in advance!

Hugs,
Tina

hmmmm...I guess I should maybe add my cycles have been pretty regular with the exception of the three rounds of clomid making my cycle a little longer than before. I don't know much about herbs at all. So if something else would be better I am willing to try it..lol Thanks again

Hugs,
Tina

Tina,

If you do a search in this forum you should be able to find the answers to your questions.

Personally, I take vitex twice daily except during AF. It hasn't caused me any problems. I think it has helped me to O (first time in ages) and my temps seemed to even out more too. Vitex is the only herb I take regularly myself, but I see a TCM doc who prescribes some herbs or herb combinations sometimes too.

Tina:

I took 2 tablets everyday, one in the am one on the pm. I had no side effects and AF arrived within 2 weeks of me starting to take it. i took vitex everyday except during AF. I was told by the OB that I would only get preg. with fertility drugs. We didn't want to go that route so I tried the vitex. It helps with ovulation from what I have read.

The only other thing I took while ttc was folic acid.

hope this helps you
