question about vitex

Hello everybody. Blood tests show I have extremely low estrogen levels which cause a variety of symptoms. However everytime I have tried taking dong quai, soya etc , anything estrogenic I feel even more depressed. I can't believe I can be so sensitive but that's the way it seems to be.
I wondered about taking vitex. I've heard it can raise progesterone levels but would it also raise estrogen levels as well. I am not ttc, so am not concerned about that. Just feeling well.

OK thank you. I did try and look through the info already on the site and found lots of info about progesterone I couldn't see anything about it being able to restore estrogen levels as well. I will give it another go.
