As of today I'm 278, thats a 32lb loss since i started dieting - I was led to believe that when i lost weight my testosterone levels would drop, so my excess hair would go.. Is this true?
Your levels may drop and the hairgrowth may subside, but it may take a little more time and a little more weight loss. Congrats on the 32lbs! I've been battling since July, 2001. I just reached the 50lb. point and although my testosterone level has dropped, it is still slightly elevated and I NEVER leave the house without tweezers! My doctor has told me that I may battle unwanted hair until I'm safely past menopause (in about 20 years!). If I were you, I would speak to your doctor and see what he/she says. Best wishes!

Unfortunately, once the hair follicles are stimulated, the hair will keep growing unless you have electrolysis or laser hair removal. When your testesterone goes down, it will prevent new hairs from growing, but the old hairs will still grow. Some women find they have much decreased excess hair growth once their hormones are balanced, but for most, especially if the problem has existed for a long time, it just isn't enough to fix it.

I've lost 50lbs. over the last two years. slowly, obviously. In May 2003, I increased my Met to 2000mg from 1000 mg. Just in the last few months, I've noticed a huge different on the chest. I also started using Aveeno Positively Smooth, but I really don't think it is possible for a lotion to make this much difference. I don't have that much weight to lose anymore. Maybe 10 or 15 lbs. So, I think that the weight lose must have to do with it. Either that, or the longer on Met the better the benefits. Maybe I'm just the lucky ones...
Think Positive. I was telling my friend the a coupel months ago that I saw "some" improvement. And, what she said was, then it will be all gone soon. If you are seeing some improvement now, why woudln't it continue? And, when I thought about that, I decided to through out everything else I read here and go with it. And, like I said, huge improvements.
It's like when you feel sick, you get sick. So, feel good. (This may sound like a bunch of crap...but when you see your first good result it is so easy to really start thinking positive. Like I will get passed this!
