Default Question for anyone who waxes their upper lip

I currently pluck my upper lip which is too time consuming and the tweezers aren't grabbing all the hairs. They are so short but dark; its such a pain. I was wondering if wax works well; do the hairs have to be very long? Are there are good at-home wax strips or something that work well? And how long does the hair stay away? Thanks.

ps- I refuse to shave. I'm horrible at it anyway so end up getting nicks every time on my legs and under arms so I'm not even touching my face.

I have not used any method of hair removal which pulls my hair out from the root, this is what helps the hair to grow in stronger and thicker. Right now I just use cuticle scissors to cut it down as far as I can.

Try a top quality electric razor designed for men -- like one of better models from the men's range of Philips/Norelco. They're designed for dealing with moustache growth, after all, and there's no possibility of getting nicked.

I recommend Surgi-wax Brazilian. No strips involved, and it takes about 3 weeks to grow back. Mine has NOT come in darker, or thicker, and has stopped coming back at all in some spots.

Talking Never Shave

I am a stylist so I do many lip waxes. I personally dont wax( I just tweeze).

Never shave you will constanty look like you have a 5 o clock shadow and plus in time when you stop growing dark hair on your upper lip you will never know due to shaving.

I would defidently recomend a bleaching kit and then tweeze off and on when needed. Waxing works from what I've seen but usually only last a week or so. The hair doesn't have to be very long just make sure you pull fast. never wax the entire lip at one time. due one side then the other.

Thats exactly what I'm afraid of. I know alot of women shave and that works well for them, but I know there must be women like me who can' bring themselves to do it. I just hate razors, period.

I've found waxing to be a million times better than shaving. It takes a few weeks for mine to grow back and its pretty simple and easy.

i wax my upper lip and chin. i tried doing it myself a few times, and i always end up burning myself - so be careful. i would go to a professional. i like sugar-wax better than honey. have you tried threading? i've gotten pretty good results from that. good luck!

I second Surgi-wax brazilian. I use it about once a week on upper lip. I don't have full regrowth each week, but I find it is less time consuming than tweezing the strays that come in. If I did not maintain it, it takes about a month to come back in fully. It does not cause it to come back darker or more coarse. Mine is much lighter and finer after several years of waxing.

Shaving your face does feel an extremely masculine thing to be doing, at first. But you get used to it very quickly and stop feeling "like a man" when you do it. It just becomes part of everyday life.

I used to use Nair made especially for the face. It takes less than 5 minutes and does not smell bad. Now that I've been on Met I don't have the hair issues anymore -- a little on the chin, but it's mostly blonde now. Good luck!

Default waxing, oh to be a woman!

I always thought the facial hair was because I was Italian, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with! Knowing PCOS has something to do with it make me feel a bit better about it, but you still have to do something. I like to use wax because it is quick and easy and if you can get it down professionally, then right on. Me personally, I would rather do it quickly at home and tweeze what I miss, but it seems you can never get it all every time. Good thing is I have noticed that the hair on my upper lip is getting less ( for the first time ever!). Good luck
