Question Question- BCP after a m/c??

Hi Ladies-

I have a question for you all. First, my history:

DH and I started to TTC in Jan of 2003. Was diagnosed with PCOS in Jan of 2004- I don't O on my own and I have very irregular periods. I got pg with the help of 100 mgs of Clomid (which forced me to O) in March. I got my BFP on 4/10. Unfortunatly, this isn't a viable pregnancy- my betas never rose about 387. I meet with my doctor on Friday to see if I'm going to have a D&C or if we're going to try to let this pregnancy pass naturally.

Either way, my ob/gyn wants me to wait 3 months till I start TTC again to give my body time to heal. For those 3 months, she suggested I go back on the Pill. If I don't go on the Pill (or take Progesterone) it is entirely possible that I won't get a period at all in that 3 months time frame.

So I'm hoping some of you can help me figure out if going back on the the Pill is a smart idea. I haven't done much research on it yet- but since I don't O on my own and will need to take Clomid to do so, I don't see how the pill will hurt anything, but I wanted to hear some personal experiences on this.

Thanks so much!
-Heather

I went on the pill for four months after an ectopic pregnancy in November. My nurse practitioner told me it is fine to be on the pill for three months or less without having to do a rest cycle. It seems to make sense to me to bcp's.
What does your dr say about glucophage or low-carbing. Lots of us have had really good luck with it. It's paid off for me.
Hope these three months pass quickly and are filled with lots of healing.
Ber

Sorry to hear about your m/c. I am currently on bcp for two months. M/c'd end of March. My doctor told me I only had to do two months before ttc again.

My doctor wants me to wait out AF for one cycle and then go on bcp for the next cycle and then I will be ready to try again. He puts me on bcp between all my off cycles. Not only does it keep AF on schedule but if you are using any meds it prevents cysts.
