I was on 500mg all last week, and as of Friday (15th Feb) started 1500mg (3 x a day)
Now, I know losing weight is not guaranteed - but could you let me know how soon it was you started losing...and on what dosage?
Did you lose even on 500mg or was it more than that?
How much did you lose per week on 1500mg?
You can see HOW much I want those scales to start moving down....!!
I go to the gym three times a week, and tried to modify my diet (only daily treat is chocolate...no bread, pasta, potatoes, processed foods, ready meals...but LOVE a bit of choc!!)
I lost 7 pounds the first week on 500 mg and so far have lost 1.5 on the 1000 mg, 3 days into that.
I have changed my diet by eating as much unprocessed foods as possible. I am doing it the old fashion way, counting calories and stayingunder 1500 calories a day. I have been searching for diabetic meal ideas on-line and have found many good choices. I am not diabetic but figure losing weight will increase my chances of getting pregnant. I am not working out but am planning on starting this week.
While being out and eating, I would try to focus on sticking to fruits, veggies and lean meat as possible. My weakness is baked goods and have realized that I have to either get strong or succumb to my cravings and we all know what is the end result with that.

I was eased up from 500 mg to 2000 mg, am now down to 1000 mg/day. No weight loss until 2000, then I lost a couple of pounds thanks to the s/e's. No real *fat* loss until I started tracking what I was eating and being mindful of portion sizes. I discovered I was munching more than I thought I was, and that my concept of portion sizes was way off. Then the weight started coming off.
At first, when I had bunches of weight to lose, I would drop between 1 and 3 pounds a week. Now, I'm thrilled if I lose a full pound in a week. Usually it's .2 - .6 lbs/week - if I stay serious about tracking my food intake and get in lots of exercise minutes - cardio and resistance training. If one of those elements is missing, so is any weight loss for that week.

Any advice?! Thanks - Lara
My first advice would be to keep a food journal for a few weeks. You could do one online or with pen and paper. Just see when, why and how much you're eating and then see if there's room for improvement (and I think we ALL have room for improvement - I know I do )
Also, try measuring your food when you're home so you can get a good idea of what a serving size is *supposed* to look like.
IRT exercise, kudos for working out so regularly If you've been doing 3 days a week for a while, try adding another day, or do an extra few minutes at each visit to the gym. Or mix up your workouts, if you tend to do the same things all the time. If you usually do only cardio, add resistance training.
Finally, read all the "Success Stories" you can find. You'll find tons of inspiration and information in them.
Keep working at it - You can do it!!
