Default Question->HCG levels & Ectopics??

Just to give u all a bit of the stats my HCG level was first at 176 (that was almost 3wks after conception) then I went for another one about 5 days later and that one was 200+ (she didn't tell me the exact #) and then I went a 5 days later and that one was 300+. So I mean it doesn't look good at all...but they dont wanna tell me that.
I hope that this ultrasound I am doing 2morrow will show what i need to know. I would love to have a healthy baby...but I just know in my heart this baby is not strong enough....I just pray that its not an ectopic and that I will be just micarrying on my own for whatever reason.
Is there a way that I can maybe prevent a miscarrage from happening another time? Is Metformin good for that? I have read alot about Metformin being used to help prevent early miscarrage.
Somebody please help?

Thanks sooo much!

I really hope that it ends up that you just had slow rising beta levels. My beta levels were very low in the begining and hardly ever rose. My inital beta was 6 then 48 later it went to 21, then 48 it went to 64, then 48 it went to 84. At this point it was Th. and I didn't get another beta till the following tuesday and it was at 500 something. I don't know if this will help, but my betas went up SO slow and hardly ever doubled. The baby is completly healthy and is growing great. I really hope this is the case for you. Good luck and let us know!

sorry. It does sound like the levels are not rising enough. An u/s is not going to be able to show a sac yet though, even if it were in your uterus (can't see anything till the levels are 1500 or more) but maybe they will see something in the tube although I've heard that this is also very hard to see early on. I think you can feel safe about taking the methotrexate shot but if you really prefer to have a natural m/c, you can tell whether it's in the uterus or not by doing a CVS test (they take a sample of the endometrium and test for embrio cells which would be present in the uterus if it was not ectopic. You could ask for that if you really want to know for sure and if you want to avoid taking the methotrexate.

As far as preventing m/c next time... there are a few things you can do like taking met (there are different schools of thought on this especially if you do not have IR, but for the most part it seems to lesson the risk for those w/ PCOS) taking progesterone suppositories, baby asprin (this can help the lining to be softer and thicker which can be a problem when taking clomid) or you could try switching to gonal-f injections which does not cause the uterine lining to be thin as clomid sometimes does. Also, be sure that they check your TSH (should be less than 3) prolactin and check for infections (strep B, bacterial vaginosis, etc.) which all can contribute to m/c. Best of luck.

Default wow

You are a GOD send.
I think I may have BV b/c I have been having alot of discharge since the beginning of my pg. I have noticed that the discharge is yellowish and sometimes appears to be a bit greenish.....I actually went to the Dr's to see if I had something and thats when they told me I was pregnant!
How do I get rid of BV? Does this sound like BV?
Please helP!
