Default A Question for Ladies with an Incompetent Cervix

I lost my twin girls at 21 weeks due to an incompetent cervix two weeks ago. We are still grieving for our daughters and not ready to ttc, but I want to be prepared for my next pregnancy. Those of you that are ttc again, have you met with a perinatologist before you planned to ttc?

Thanks, Traci

First, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

When I lost my son at 18 weeks after rescue cerclage, I went to dr for follow up visit. We discussed then what he suggested for next pg. Well, I was also seeing RE for ttc. Next time I saw him, we discussed it as well and he suggested an abdominal cerclage versus vaginal that my ob wanted to do. He said we would deal with that when I was pg. When I did get pg, there was plenty of time to get in to see the peri, they tend to get you in pretty quick.

My understanding is peri's do pre-pregnancy counseling, we just didn't go that way. But, I don't see why you couldn't do that and at least have a plan of action...

I wish you the best in the future and in your healing...
