Default Question re: cramping episode

Hi all and thanks for all the wonderful advice I've been able to access since I joined. I'm sitting up here not able to sleep due to cramps and was looking for some support. Someone else asked this on another post yet there were only a few vague replies...

I've been on Metformin for a total of 3 1/2 to 4 weeks having upped to 1000mg just a week ago. After three weeks on Met I got a period (I'm assuming this is the same as AF but I've yet to find out what that stands for A light spotty period for two days and then about two episodes of bleeding the third day and that was it. Well, here I am a few days later cramping like mad. I've never had this much pain. It can't be another period but it sure feels like it should be. I can manage the pain, but what do you ladies think is causing it? The met trying to work on my system and it's just gonna take some time is my guess but just looking for support. Thanks, tammi

The first af I had after I started met kept coming and going and I cramped a lot. And I know this is tmi but you would not believe the clots that came out. But since then I have had regular cycles that aren't too bad. Crampy, but normal in length. Hope that helps

Could you be ovulating? Or is it too early in your cycle?
