Default question re pap results & no period

yesterday I recieved a voice mail from my RE's office..did pap last week and they want to talk to me about the results. Of course I came home late in the evening so I have to stew about it for the weekend. Should I worry?? I am a little concerned.

Also...I took provera for about 14 days...last pill was 2 weeks and 2 days ago and still no period. I ususally start about 3 days later. Is this a bad sign? I am trying not to think the worst about these two things together...help!!!

I wouldn't worry. I had 1 abnormal pap that was fine when they re-did it. And my recent one they called because I had a slight bacterial infection that I needed to treat.
As far as the provera - mine worked 2 days after stopping it, so I can't really help you there. I'd search the forums though because I have seen provera not really work for a lot of people, you can see what the reasons were or what else they had to do.

I don't think I am pg...no symptoms at all. I am not preventing...I had an ovary removed in the fall of 2007 so I really don't think I would have much of a chance of a surprise pregancy. I do worry a little about early menopause. I am back on provera...6 days left of pills...but spotting has sort of started...very very light...no pad needed at all. So who knows what is up with me!

I didn't get my results back from the doctors office about my pap results. They said they were Atypical squamous cells...but my HPV test was negative so my RE wasn't worried but wants to make sure I have a pap again in a year. So hopfully next year it will show normal.

Thanks for the support!!!!! I appreciate it!

Hi Brenda, I know your concern got resolved but I just want to say I've had several abnormal pap smears, even had a colposcopy, so I can understand how nerve-wrecking it is to be told that your smear is abnormal. My colp results all came back negative, so I just assume perhaps it could be conditions such as PCOS and/or endometriosis that may contribute to more rapid cell changes in the cervix (but then again I'm not a doctor).
