Default Question re pre-eclampsia

Hi
I just wondered how many of you suffered with pre-eclampsia and whether you were aware of a risk?
We lost Ellie at 27 days old after she was born at 27wks due to pre-eclampsia. We are now thinking about whether to try again, so your input would help.
Thanks
Sue x

Hi Sue.

I'm so sorry...

[[[hugs]]]

As for pre-eclampsia...while i was in labor with my twins i was showing signs of pre-e also...rocketing blood pressure etc. I'm not really sure if i had it or if it was just the stress of everything...so i wish i could give you answers or at least share my experience...

Take care and have faith...someone will have answers for you here. Type it into the search and i'm confident you will get threads about it...

I had Pre-eclampsia with both of my children.

My son was born at 31 wks and stayed in the NICU/SCN for 5 weeks. He's nearly 4 yrs old and very healthy and busy.

My daughter was born at almost 24 wks and lived for just over an hour. We chose not to put her through the NICU experience as our doctors felt she didn't stand much of a chance at survival - so we chose to hold her in our arms instead of causing her pain.

With my daughter I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome (found out that I also had HELLP with my son, but had never been told).

There is wonderful information on the web from other women who have had Pre-E and/or HELLP who go on to have healthy pregnancies - some with no re-occurrance.

My doctor asked me to lose 50 lbs so I would be healthier for another try - I'm just over half-way there. My husband and I have changed our eating habits thanks to Sugar Busters! and we both feel much better. I feel confident that I can get a future pregnancy to a reasonable duration (for me 36 wks is my goal) so we may increase our family by one more.
