Default Question regarding treatment of Endo

I would like to know if you have endo and pcos what treatment has worked for you?
I just had 3 uterine palyps removed as well as 9 areas of endometriosis. My doctor says if I don't treat the overproduction of estrogen, they will come back. Please help!

Metformin ER 1,500 mg

Hi,

Sorry you're going through this.

Here is a link to a page that presents your options so you can read about them. I think a strong progestogen treatment would be better than putting any extra oestrogen in your body e.g. with the combined pill.

http://endometriosis.org/treatment.html

This page has a variety of treatments explained, including natural and lifestyle approaches you can take to alleviate symptoms.

I hope this helps.

I know a lot of women with moderate-severe endo seem to be on Zoladex which I believe puts the body in a state of menopause, which is reveresed when treatment stops. While in a state of menopause, endo shrinks and doesn't continue to form, which slows the growth rate down after treatment and gives (hopefully) a period of time without problems - though this varies from woman to woman. The side effects are, of course, like that of the menopause, but many women who have terrible pain and other symptoms due to endo are willing to go through these for some relief afterwards.

I hope you can find something that works for you.

I went the natural route and say a Naturopath. She's given me some homeopathic meds that seem to work for me. Also something called DIM complex which is supposed to help get rid of the bad estrogen which causes the endometriosis. I have Endo wrapped around my urethra, so certain times in my cycle it feels like a really bad UTI... no Dr i've seen will remove it but they tell me it must be removed...they fear a lawsuit if things go wrong. Natural treatment helps e alot though. I have a thread in this forum that follows through what I am going through. Heading to the Naturopath!

I wish I knew the answer to this. My gyno and endocrinologist are trying to figure this out for me. I am now trying 7 days at 20mg/day of Norethindrone because NOTHING else is working for me to stop my periods. Since trying BC's in the past few months (lap surgery was in Jan), I've done nothing but bleed or spot. If this next 7 days doesn't work, my two doctors are out of ideas and say I either need to just get pregnant or remove everything.

Meds I've been put on that haven't worked: Yaz, Seasonique, Necon 1/35, and now Norethindrone (just did 2.5 weeks at 10mg/day and now trying 7 days @ 20mg/day).
