Default A question for those who wax

Hi ladies,

I'm thinking about waxing my "beard" and "moustache", but I'm curious how long the hair needs to be before you can do this. I definitely cannot go several days without shaving them because I have to go to work and am just too embarrassed, as I would literally have a full beard if I let it grow. I am on vacation the first week in August and was thinking of taking care of it then. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Lauren

Yeah...it needs to be I think they usually say a 1/4 of an inch or so...I believe that is what the packs say. It deff. won't work if you have just shaved..so either do it then or maybe over the weekend or something...good luck!

If you use the wax that doesn't need strips, you won't have to wait. It will grab even the tiniest hairs. I like Surgi-Wax; I get it in Wal-Mart. I think Nair makes one also, it usually contains beeswax and resin/rosin wax. It works soooo much better than the kind that needs strips applied after the wax. But try it before your vacation; some people break out. I like to use TendSkin twice a day for a few days beforehand and after, it helps with the break-out and ingrown hairs. Also, right after you wax it's really easy to tweeze any hairs left behind because the waxing exfoliates the skin.

i wax on saturdays, the hair has to be 1/4 long. I do it on saturday so that way it can grow out and the redness will be gone before i o to work on monday. I exfoliate every day (i have ance and blackheads issues also) and use jergens shave minimizing lotin. i would have to shave every day but the waxing last about 6 days, and with the lotin it helps the hair grow in softer.

I was just going to recommend it. I tried it for the first time last week and loved it! I think it says it can pickup hairs as small as 1/8"
