Good for you for not waiting on a doc to take charge of you health. It certainly couldn't hurt to get your thyroid tested again. Your family doc or gyn should be able to run the blood work. You should definately ask the to test TSH, T4 and T3. Sometimes the tricky part can be getting diagnosed off of your results though. The new guidelines for TSH levels are something like .3-3.04 and if your doc goes off the old ones which are .5-5.0 it can be hard to get to an endo. I'm not an expert, but your symptoms sound like hypothyroid to me. Hopefully your doc will listen to your syptoms and not just lab results as well.
Good luck!
