Since I have been sick for 6 years the only symptom that I seem to have that not any other women with PCOS has is UTIs Bedwetting and Urinary Frequency. Does anyone else suffer from that also??? Does anyone have any idea what It could be? No one has a clue and this has been going on far to long. They think its because of my Endometriosis could that be true?! It took me 6 years to figure out that I have PCOS now I have a few unanswered questions left.. Thank you for your time!!!!
I haven't heard of this being PCOS related, but my sister has a friend who had bedwetting problems for years. The doctors finally did a sleep study on her and found that she had bad sleep apnea. As soon as she got the machine to wear at night the problem stopped. Could it be possible that you may have this? Also, endometriosis could be causing the problems as well. As I'm sure you know endo causes endometrial cells to be deposited outside the uterine cavity. Sometimes they can be deposited inside the bladder which could be causing these problems. Either way I think that you should see a specialist until they find out exactly what the problem is. There is no reason for you to have to deal with this discomfort all the time. Good luck!

Thank you for your time reading this. They told me a couple of years ago that I might have sleep apena but nothing was ever done for it. My doctor says he thinks my endo might be causing the problems BUT they wont do any surgery to help me with the problem.. im 21 and its so embrassing for me I feel like im 80 always going to the bathroom always peeing on myself.. i got to where i even do it throughout the day. Im on Vesicare and ddavp which helps but I think that something needs to be done.. dont add more meds to my list lol
Have you seen a urologist? I have endo and we know theres some endo on my urethra. I dont know how much, or even if its relevant, but I know when Im getting close to my AF I get bad UTI symptoms, but my cultures all come abck normal--then after 2.5 weeks, they vanish!

I have seen over 5 urologist and I keep getting told I'm stressed out. I'M NOT STRESSED OUT!!! lol not knowing whats wrong is stressing me out!!! ya know? I get UTI symptoms all the time but most of the time the cultures are normal but there are white blood cells in my urine its so weird.
I would definately find a doctor willing to do a sleep study for your apnea as this can be something dangerous if not treated. I would also look for an obgyn willing to discuss the option of laproscopy to remove any endo in places that might be causing the problems.

What excatly is sleep apena? I heard its PCOS related. Is that true?!
Sleep apnea isn't necesarily related to PCOS- anyone can have it. Sleep apnea means that you often stop breathing for 10 seconds or longer during sleep. The problem can be mild to severe, based on the number of times each hour that you stop breathing or how often your lungs don't get enough air. This may happen from 5 to 50 times an hour.

That's a sure sign of Sleep Apnea. Please research it and bring up the condition to your doctor right away! I read that Sleep Apnea and PCOS go hand in hand. I didn't know that until I read up about PCOS.
I had Sleep Apnea from age 9 to 11 and I had constant UTI's and bedwetting as a result. It's crazy that I was showing signs of PCOS at age 9! I think mines was missed because of my age. The doctor told my parents it was normal for 9, 10, and 11 year olds to wet the bed, but my mom kept telling her no it's not.
I had to go to an Ears, Nose, and Throat Specialist (I was referred by my general practioner) to get diagnosed. Treatment is so simple (just some pills you take for 7-14 days) and yet some doctors miss it.
Along with bedwetting and constant UTI's how is your sleep? Are you constantly interrupted in the night? Does your S/O (if you have one) notice that you constantly wake up through the night?
Hound your docs until you get the proper testing to figure out what's causing your symptoms.

I don't remember the name, but back when I took them they were very small (like allergy pills) and dark green colored.

UTI's are related to PCOS or anyone with high insulin therefore High blood sugar.
I get UTIs alot and have to take antibiotics regularly.... and try to drink lots of water and clean really well otherwise I get them...
They feel so bad. I feel so sorry for women in the olden times who had no antibiotics.
I am also 24 weeks pregnant so keflex is a safe antibiotic to take during pregnancy for UTI's.
I know some women never get them at all. I think if you get recurrent ones - the infection does some damage to the tissues and makes you more likely to keep getting them.. so yeah.. I will probably always get them on and off but can do things like drink water and clean well and that helps to make them a little frequent.
Not sure if this helps but I figured it could not hurt. I had serious UTI and pee on myself issues before I was diagnosed with PCOS, not sure if there is a relationship or not though. Thank goodness a sweet woman I work with, her husband, works in a Urologist office. So after having a UTI every month right after my period I went and had a consultation. They checked my urine and it was normal but I still had some white blood cells in my sample. So they did a scan to make sure my kidneys and abdomen were fine, which they were, then they did a test where they stick a little camera in your bladder and look around. It did not feel good at all but they discovered that the lining of my bladder was a mess and was never completely healing with the anitbiotics so I was continually getting UTI's. It had gotten so bad there were several times I had to leave underwear in the trash in the bathroom and I was up 2 or 3 times a night. He also mentioned that UTI's are common in women around the time they get AF because of the surge in hormones. So anyway the treatment was I had to go five days in a row the put a dye into your bladder, you hold your pee for as long as possible atleast 90 minutes and then pee the dye out. And I am not by any means saying any of this felt good but at that point it was so worth not peeing my pants to have it done. Well that was in May of 2008 and I have not had one since, I feel like a new woman. It took a short time for all the symptoms to go away but it was so worth it. I just rant and rave about my Urologist and all the precautions he took to make sure I was okay. Maybe you could suggest they do a test to actually look at your bladder, if you have white blood cells in your urine, there is something going on in there!
