Unhappy Questions???

Hi there. New to this site, but not new to PCOS. I was diagnosed in March of 2003. I am 31, my Dx came 8 months after my 3rd child was born.
When my doctor diagnosed me, his treatment was to put me on Ortho-Tricyclene Lo (the bc pill, even though my husband had a vasectomy and we weren't having any more children). After about 3 months of being on the pill and still suffering from weight gain and the inability to lose it, and severe depression and mood swings, I went back and he put me on Fluoxetine 20mg along with the pill. Later he changed my pill to plain old Ortho-Tricyclene as the other made me nauseaus. The pill does help me to be regular (have a period every month), and for about 4 months the fluoxetine really helped with the moods and depression. But now, even though I'm still on it, the moodiness and depression are returning, I never lost the weight I gained, I still have very painful cramps for about 2 weeks of the month and lesser ones about another week and a half of the month, clotts during my period, heavy periods, constipation except when on period then I have loose bowels, tired all of the time, yet cannot get a good nights rest, hot flashes and night sweats, and no sexual desire whatsoever!
I am so frustrated. At this point I am wondering why not just get a hysterectomy? We have had all the children we are going to have, and why have a period if I don't have to, and why go through all of this each month if I can get it out and go on with it?
This is where I need some advice! I don't remember him saying if I was insulin resistant or not, my thyroid, bp, cholesterol, and sugars are all good.
What can I do from here? I'm tired of feeling depressed, then biting someones head off the next minute. I'm tired of taking medications, tired of being in pain, tired of fighting with my husband about the lack of sexual desire, etc. etc. etc.
Any good advice out there?
Thanks so much.

I'm sorry you are going through all this. It would be a good idea to get checked for insulin resistance and see a doc who knows a lot about PCOS. Some Cysters said birth control just made their symptoms worse. Even if you have a total hysterectomy, you can still have PCOS problems.
