Default Questions

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions. I was diagnosed last summer, was put on 1000mg metformin, then increased to 1500 in November. Im still not getting a regular monthly cycle and actually have gained weight. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to if I should be trying another medicine or giving it more time or what? Also, when I do get my period its awful. Cramps and the whole bit... Which I never experienced before. Has anyone else experienced this change? I appreciate any advice. Thanks everyone...Tina

I too gained weight on Met. I also developed pelvic pain that I never had before. After alot of new problems came up and I did alot of researching, I found I had all the symptoms of endometreosis. I made an appt with a GYN surgen, told him my reg dr suspects endo and they did a LAP.

Sure enough, I had it all over.

For some women it has been proven to inhance the reproductive area and help get some preggnant. so if it triggers certain hormones to make conception a reality, it can also triggers those same hormones(estrogen) to cause endo to grow.

I would suggest you read up on endometreosis and then when you talk to your doctor about it, say another doctor suggest you be evaluated for endo. Most dr's don't want to listen to their patients, so we need to change the wording a bit to get`the job done.

With my LAP, they found endo destroyed my rt tube and ovary(main reason for premenapausal symptoms, which are the same as PCOS)

For me, with the combination of Yasmin and gluc I was getting a double wammy on the hormones that my body could not handle.
I ended up with cronic UTI's and cronic non stop pelvic pain.

Sad part, I didn't know what caused it all until AFTER I had a hysterectomy!! As soon as the dr's suspected endo, they should have pulled me off the BCP and the Gluc!!
