Hello...I am new to this site and to the whole PCOS thing. I am 22yrs old and about 6 months ago my husband and I were TTC, this is when I found out I had PCOS. My doctor then had me take my temp every day to see if I was Oing, which she said I wasnt. So she put me on 50mg of clomid and told me to take my temp every morning again. I saw no change but was not able to go back to the dr because we moved. I am now back on BCP's because we dont want a baby right now, but we want to start trying again soon.
I have a few questions now...if I wasnt O'ing on my own when I was off BCP's is it possible to treat PCOS via diet and exercise and regulate my periods and begin to O on my own w/out medication?
Yes, it is possible! It doesn't work for everybody, but you can't go wrong with a good diet and exercise, anyway. Eating well and exercising has alleviated most of the symptoms for me. I've even gotten my period back!

I've also got a more regular cycle since I have lost weight. I went from 105 kg (232 lb) to 85 kg (187 lb) about 2 years ago and now I am trying to get down to 70 kg (154 lb). Even though my cycle is now long, it is there and I am ovulating. Give it a go. I am on Weight Watchers at the moment and love it.

I am 24 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS Sept 2005
I have a fertility/obgyn/specialist for a Doctor.
He has me taking 500mg of Metformin 2 times a day. I really don't know if it is doing anything for the fertilty partially because half the time I forget to take it but it has helped me loose lots of weight. (25 lbs in two months).
I decided to loose all my excess weight before going back on to clomephene citrate (clomed) after having a tubal pregnancy (before I started taking metformin)
As far as I know it hasn't been approved were I live for the treatment of PCOS but from all I've read and my experience with it you sould talk to your doctor
