I'M SUPPOSED TO TAKE MUSCLE RELAXERS AND VITAMINS, AND SHEESH IT'S JUST A LOT. ON TOP OF THE SKIN STUFF I USE, RETIN A, BENZACLIN, A PRESC. FACE WASH, ECT...IT'S ALL GETTING REALLY EXPENSIVE!! ANY IDEAS? I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS! THANKS!!

I'VE BEEN READING AND READING AND READING ON THIS STUFF...AND I'M SO CONFUSED. I NEED SOMETHING THAT'S USED AS AN INSULIN SENSITIZER, SOMETHING THAT'S AN ANTI-ANDROGEN, AND SOMETHING TO HELP BALANCE HORMONES...SOMETHING FOR ACNE WOULD BE GREAT TOO...I'VE TRIED TO LEARN FROM YOU ALL, BUT YOU ALL TAKE SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS!! PLEASE HELP!!

I would say, the cheapest effective supplements you can get are these two:

- cinnamon extract ( for insulin resistance)
- saw palmetto ( suppresses Dihydrotestosterone and can help with acne and excess hair).

Check out my post on " Cinnulin PF" it's a new water-soluble cinnamon extract, very effective for insulin resistance and better than just cinnamon powder.

Another alternative to Saw Palmetto concerning reducing DHT is GLA found in evening primrose oil or borage oil or black current seed oil.

You also have R-alpha lipoic acid which is very effective for insulin resistance but also quite expensive so in terms of money, cinnamon is cheaper.

One last thing....regular cardio and resistance training exercise is very effective for insulin resistance. You MUST include exercise in your life to control IR. Good luck! ;-)
