Default Questions about first normal period in 2 yrs...

Hello all,
I have pcos. I have not had a normal period in two years (just spotting, little to no cramping or nothing at all). Recently, I started a period-and it was heavy! It has lasted now for 8 days, seems to not be as heavy as the first couple of days, but I still get scared when i look in the toilet. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to having a flow at all, and I'm not used to the blood. I also have been having blood clots each time I pee and sometimes on the pad/tampon. I have also had bad cramps. What I've done lately that may have contributed to my AF arriving (hopefully a good thing) are: taking my thyroid med faithfully each day, taking chromium/alpha lipoic acid, vitamin d, omega-3s, as well as losing a few pounds (about 6-8 lbs). Do you rhink this sounds like my treatment plan is working and that I brought on my period in a heathful way, or could it be that it is progressing in to something worse (uterine fibroids, etc) ? Also, my period came on about 2 days after my pap- is that normal? I was thinking that the clots and blood were so heavy this period because it is clearing out all the old lining and blood from not having a good flow in so long. Does this sound logical? Any suggestions would help!! Thanks a million in advance!!!

hey girl! It sounds to me like you are on the right track! Ur period seems to be pretty normal sounding since you say you havent had it in two years that seems pretty good! If it lasts very much longer though, I would call my gyno..I also know that paps can cause spotting or jump start a period so maybe thats what you needed! lol...either way, sounds good unless it doesnt stop soon..And that may be normal for u since you havent had one in such a long time! Either way, congrats! Way to go AF!!
