Default Questions about meds.

I was Dx'd with PCOS about 9 months ago. I was taking birth control for 4 years and gained a lot of weight. My doctor had me on Metformin. I was taking that for about 6 months and was having severe stomach pain. I also did not lose any weight or have regular periods while on the Metformin. I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions on anything that would help. Anything like Metformin that I should ask my doctor about?

I had the same problem with Metformin. No results, except for stomach pain and horrible diarrhea and nausea. My doctor told me that some women just don't respond to Metformin. And she suggested Actos instead. she said some women respond to it.
I never tried Actos though. I got tired of riding the medicine train and stopped taking medicine. Nothing seemed to work and I couldn't afford to keep trying different things.

HTH.

Have your doctor check you thyroid and testosterone levels. Make sure you are not Gluten intolerent, that put a lot of weight on me and kept me sick all of the time until I took wheat out of my diet! Then I lost 50 pounds
