Question Questions about Polyps in Uterus ? I'm freakin...

I had a D and C done early this morning, and also Dr took a scope to look around into my uterus - during the procedures he found polyps in my uterus and went ahead and removed them ! I wasn't expecting this, and when I talked to Dr today I was still under anesthesia and kind of out of it, don't remember much or if I even asked him many Questions- Mother & Sister N Law talked to him after surgery and he said everything went great ! But I'm dieing here worried about the polyps ! Has anyone had this problem ? I'm sure they'll be biopsy'd but, will I continue to form these polyps ? I need info ? Someone help ! ??? Oh yeah just to explain, D and C was done due to uterine lining being thickened and he also said my uterus was enlarged (said it was approx 10 cm and should run at 5cm or so) ??? Another question ? WHAT causes uterus to be enlarged ??? I go back to Dr in two weeks, don't know if I can wait that long for these Questions ! Probably gonna call the nurse tomorrow !

I'm not an expert but I had a D&C last Oct for uterine polyps and also had thickening of the lining. My problems started with abnormal watery bleeding and then I took meds to stop AF and it didn't start right away. Between the sonogram and D&C, I had AF and when Dr. did procedure found no polyps. Could be due to thickening - have you had AF before procedure? I was told the thickening could be due to this as well. They'll run pathology on anything they remove so that will perhaps give you some peace of mind. I'm like you -- and would probably call just to ask questions. It never hurts to ask...good luck.

Don't worry too much until you speak to the doctor. I had polyps removed about a year and a half ago and they were benign. In fact the majority of polyps are benign. The polyps will actually cause your endometrium to become thickened, so that is probably why yours was. I actually just had an ultrasound a couple days ago and they found another polyp. I am not too worried about it now that I have been through it before. My biggest problem is that I don't really want to take off work to have them removed. I have been on sick leave for almost a month now because of a stroke and I don't think my work would appreciate me taking off work another day for a simple D&C. I am hoping she can wait a couple months. I guess I will find out when I go back on the 28th.

Good luck and I hope everything turns out okay for you!! Keep a chin up and think positive thoughts.

Polyps are not that big a deal...scary nonetheless! I have one on my cervix. Got freaked when I found out too. Even with it being there, my doc told me it would not prevent ttc. Hang in there. It will be ok. But if it does make you feel better, call your nurse. Thats what they are there for....
