Default Questions about soy.

Hello! My name is Laura and I am new to the PCOS 'world'! I was dxd 11/05 because we had been trying to conceive for almost 3 years without any success. So, after the dx we stopped trying because basically we were told that our only option was met and clomid. I wasn't sure that I wanted to go that route so I went on bcps for regulation. Well, hubby and I decided to start trying again this month. I have some questions about soy!

1. Can you take soy in back to back cycles without the side effects like you can get with clomid?

2. Can you continue to take the other fertility 'stuff' that you were already taking, i.e. green tea for cm and B6 for lp? Do vitex and soy basically do the same thing so would you NOT take these at the same time?

3. Can you start taking soy at anytime in your cycle to try to bring on ovulation? I am at cd 16 and in I don't o in the next week or so could I start soy?

Thank you for any advice that you could give!!!

Laura

Hi Laura! Yes, you would take soy just as you would clomid (days 3-7 or 5-9). You shouldn't take Vitex and soy together though. You should be fine to continue taking green tea and B6 while on soy. I think you could start soy midcycle if you know for sure you haven't already ov'd. There is a soy thread on this board at the top if you haven't had a chance to take a peek yet. There should be some good info there for you! Also, there are soy threads on the ttc board too! Best of luck!! HTH.
