In a way I'm sorry they didn't find endo. Do you think maybe it was the polyps that were causing the pain? I've heard that they can prevent implantation. I'm surprised your doc's office didn't set up a follow-up appointment already. I had mine scheduled before I even had the surgery. I hope your doc comes up with a good game plan when you talk to him next. Good luck and KUP.
Sounds like it was quite the day, but you must be relieved the procedure is behind you. I hope you get more helpful information when you speak with your Dr. tomorrow. Let us know what they have to say! In the meantime, take it easy.
A week from today I will be fasting for my lap. Ugh, not looking forward to that part, but hey, between two days of fasting (clear liquids only) and an enema, I might lose a few pounds in the process right?

Renee: Thanks hun.... I am DEVESTATED its not endo. So many Drs have pretty much diagnosed me with it for years now since I have all the symptoms. I thought for sure he would find tons of endo take it out and I would get pregnant and be pain free for a while. Now we are back to square #1 it sounds like. I had the polyps in my uterus like that a few years back when my lining wasnt shedding and had a hysteroscopy and D and C from it but I never felt different after. I dont think that was the cause of any pain or irreg bleeding or infertility. My old RE thought after that was done I would get pregnant within the next few cycles and when I didnt thats when he thought it must be endo preventing it and said I either need a lap or IVF. I do have a follow up appt but its not for 2 weeks and I dont want to wait 2 weeks for answers so thats why I am calling tomorrow. Hugs!!
Jcb: Thanks hun. While I am relieved its over I am devestated that it sounds like they did it for nothing and have no idea what is causing my pain and secondary infertility. With them being able to see all in that area I would have assumed if there was another issue or anything else they would be able to tell. I am just frustrated that I dont have any answers and hope I will get more clear answers with my Dr. Good luck with your Lap. I didnt have to fast besides the night before no food/water after midnight and I didnt have to have an enema luckily. Hugs!

Good luck reaching your Dr. this morning! It would be awful if they make you wait until your follow-up appointment in two weeks for the info, almost as crazy-making as the other kind of 2WW! Let us know.

Wanted to see if anyone had any options...
Here is what my Dr said
No endo at all in which he was extremely surprised, during the hysteoscopy he found and removed old polyps in my uterus (this was also done a few years ago) he also did a D and C, He said my uterus is what they call heavy which can sometimes be Adenomyosis but he cannot know for sure if thats what it is and there is no treatment for it besides hysterectomy which is not an option, he said my uterus was not titled and nothing looked off anywhere, he did another HSG and my tubes are fine, he said I have the classic polycystic ovaries and my ovaries were enlarged and that is why he decided to do the ovarian drilling.
When I asked what could be causing me so much pain he said its very hard now that endo is ruled out to diagnose. He said it could be related to GI pain and told me to take fiber daily and he said it could be the Adenomyosis which is somewhat like endo but in the uterine wall.
When I asked about fertility he said when I ovulate through medicine he doesnt see any reason why I shouldnt getting pregnant. He said while my tubes look perfect and the dye flows right out of them sometimes they are the cause of a problem that they cant see. He said due to me ovulating a good amount of times of medicines and not getting pregnant he is suggesting I try Femara for a few tries. He is hoping everything he did might help and might work. He said if I ovulate after a few more tries and dont end up pregnant that he thinks something else might be going on (like a tube issue that cant be seen) and I will have to do IVF.
As far as how I feel well it was a week this past Friday. On Friday I could tell most of the surgical glue was gone in my belly button and started coming off on the lower part of my belly too. Now its all the way off and its not all the way healed so I am going to give it a few more days and then call him. Not sure if its normal or not. I am not bleeding anymore.
I want to get the show on the road so I am going to start Provera on Monday.
Opinions?

Just wanted to stop by and say good luck to you in your search for causes for your pain snowflower. I had my lap a week ago, and I don't know how I would've reacted had they really not found much. That must be so, so frustrating.
I'm crossing my fingers that the ovarian drilling helps for you! From what I've read about it, it sounds effective.

Sounds like you got a lot of information from your Dr. although not quite as definitive as one might want =( I guess for now you could try a few diet alterations to see if that helps with the pain? Are there any alternative therapies to hysterectomy if it is Adenomyosis...at least to control the pain for awhile? I have heard very good things about Femara and hope it does the trick for you. I am hoping a few doses of Clomid or Femara will do the trick for me after the lap, but if my RE thinks we need to do IVF I'm prepared for that.
My lap is at 10:30 tomorrow, so send some good vibes my way I've been on an all clear liquid diet for the last two days; which hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.....just waiting for the laxative I had to take to kick in....ugh.
Take care,
Jane

Snow - I'm not sure what to say. I had to google Adenomyosis to find out what it was. I am hoping you will have good luck with Femara though. I got pregnant with it several times.
Thanks for all of the kind thoughts! I am home and recovering well. My belly area is pretty sore when I move, hopefully that goes away as the carbon dioxide makes it's way out. And my shoulders/neck do hurt like I had been warned because of the carbon dioxide pushing up against my diaphragm. I'm hoping that will all resolve itself in the next day or two. Was a bit nauseous last night because of the anaesthetic but I am feeling a lot better today. Have been sleeping lots. I am loving eating solid foods again; it wasn't as bad as I expected doing the clear liquid diet for two days, but when they gave me crackers and biscuits in the recovery room yesterday I thought I was in heaven, LOL =)
My surgery was at about 10:00 a.m.....they knocked me out at 9:51 a.m. exactly, that was the last thing I remember hearing in the OR, the anaesthesiologist telling the nurse to chart that I was out at that time. I woke up in the recovery room around 1:00 and didn't get out until after 4:00. Although I felt well enough to go and my vitals were all good, they wanted me to pee first. It took forever for all the fluids to make there way through my system!
As for what they found, I am happy to report that they removed the two large endometriomas with no trouble, and both my ovaries are in good shape. There was only another small patch of endo elsewhere, which they also tidied up. They did a dye test and a hysteroscopy; according to the Dr. everything looks really good! I was so relieved to hear that. She even said I could stop taking the birth control pill this cycle and start TTC again! She said that after surgery like this women with PCOS are likely to ovulate naturally so I am hopeful that is the case! So we'll see what happens over the next two months and I'll be seeing her again on September 2 so either way things are moving forward and I am thrilled about that.
Thanks again for all the good vibes! It's been great having this support from each other. Chat soon!
Jane

Oh Jane! I am so, so very happy for you that everything came out so well Get lots of rest, lots of good solids to eat and I'm hoping that you heal quickly! Good luck with everything...I'd love to keep in touch with you and compare how soon we get pregnant after this
Can I ask you what you think of acupuncture? I've been looking into it/reading up on it on the board, and actually called a place but it seemed a little pricy.

Renee! Just remembered today is induction day for you!
Hey Melissa! Let's definitely keep in touch, feel free to PM me anytime! Will you be starting TTC right away as well? I hope I'll be up for BD-ing sometime in the next two weeks, otherwise this cycle is a write-off. At this moment it is absolutely the last thing on my mind; I'd even rather attempt sit-ups over sex, LOL!
I will be calling my acupuncturist to book an appointment for next week; I've been taking a break from it while not TTC, since the cost can add up pretty quickly. But I have found it worthwhile, it has helped with regulating my cycles and ovulation in the past....I also noticed it helped the amount of EWCM I get, and it is very relaxing/calming. I will probably go weekly or bi-weekly for the next little while. I pay about $65 per session, but am luckily covered for some of it through mine and DH's extended health benefits from work. Keep calling around and see if you can find a place that is a good fit for you. It is best if you find someone who has experience in treating PCOS/infertility, and I have found some will possibly 'negotiate' their fee if the cost is prohibitive for you.
