Default Questions...oh so many

So I have been reading a lot of the threads. Thank you to all who post what they are going through...it helps a lot.

Up until Oct., I had MAYBE 3 periods a year, all 4-7 days in length. After 40+ days, I finally got in with the ob/gyn...went on Provera- stopped the bleeding...no period until March 9- then it started again. Went to dr (had an appt) on March 25...dr. thinks its PCOS...had fasted, so did the entire blood work up...did sonogram that Friday- diagnosed. Ok, so she has me on Met and provera...provera for 10 days...period starts...wants me to take a PG test on Day 28 and then if a neg, back on the provera. I guess I am wondering why...I have asked, and honestly, I feel like all of the information is there, but I am just not hearing it correctly. From what I am reading, Met can help regulate cycles? If so, is the provera eliminating the chance of my body doing it on its own with the Metformin.

My DH and I are ttc...I am not comfortable with the fertility drug route for myself, so I am 1. trying to get my body on a regaulr cycle and 2. trying to increase chances of BFP.

So, does anyone have any advice/words of wisdom?

Thanks in Advance!
